چکیده
The patient presented symmetrical, erythematousviolaceous plaques on the distal phalanges of the fingers and toes; the plaques had a hyperkeratotic and desquamative surface (Figures 1 and 2). There was also slight reddening and desquamation of the lobes of the ears. In addition, the patient was asthenic, with mild jaundice of the skin and mucosas, and presented hepatomegaly and palpable right lateral cervical lymph nodes that formed a mass of approximately 4 by 3 cm (Figure 3). Psoriasiform dermatitis in a case of newly diagnosed locally advanced pyriform sinus tumour: Bazex syndrome revisited.
Acrokeratosis paraneoplastica of Bazex is a rare but important paraneoplastic dermatosis, usually manifesting as psoriasiform rashes over the acral sites. It often precedes diagnosis of the associated malignancy, usually that of upper aerodigestive tract squamous cell carcinoma. We present the case of a patient with a newly diagnosed pyriform sinus tumour and associated acrokeratosis paraneopla...
متن کاملAnti-TNF antibody-induced psoriasiform skin lesions in patients with inflammatory bowel disease are characterised by interferon-γ-expressing Th1 cells and IL-17A/IL-22-expressing Th17 cells and respond to anti-IL-12/IL-23 antibody treatment.
BACKGROUND We analysed incidence, predictors, histological features and specific treatment options of anti-tumour necrosis factor α (TNF-α) antibody-induced psoriasiform skin lesions in patients with inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). DESIGN Patients with IBD were prospectively screened for anti-TNF-induced psoriasiform skin lesions. Patients were genotyped for IL23R and IL12B variants. Skin ...

It usually involves the subungueal area with nail hyperkeratosis and dystrophy.2 A 56-year-old man, alcoholic, pres...
متن کاملThe association of psoriasiform rash with anti-tumor necrosis factor (anti-TNF) therapy in inflammatory bowel disease: a single academic center case series.
BACKGROUND & AIMS Anti-tumor necrosis factors (anti-TNF) including infliximab, adalimumab and certolizumab pegol are used to treat Crohn's disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC). Paradoxically, while also indicated for the treatment of psoriasis, anti-TNF therapy has been associated with development of psoriasiform lesions in IBD patients and can compel discontinuation of therapy. We aim to i...
متن کاملDermoscopic patterns of benign volar melanocytic lesions in patients with atypical mole syndrome.
BACKGROUND Acral benign melanocytic lesions in white populations, particularly in subjects with atypical mole syndrome, have been poorly characterized until recently. The advent of dermoscopy has enabled more specific diagnoses of these pigmented skin lesions. OBJECTIVE To evaluate the clinical and dermoscopic features of benign volar lesions in a group of white patients with atypical mole sy...
